Profile: Former Marina site: Dive from chainlink fence northward along shore to submerged Austin auto, turn southward and descend to 50 feet and traverse site to southern end. Revisit flagged 2013 observation sites and return up slope through debris field. Littoral/sub-littoral slope varies from cobble slope (aprox. 45 degrees) to blocky bedrock walls. Bottom composition coarse detritus around marina site transitioning to fine non-solidified fine detritus beyond, interspaced with a few logs and abundant man made debris. Video recording (attached below)
Divers: Dale C.
Time: 76 min.
Bottom depth: 50/70 ft.
Bottom Temperature: 41 F. 39F near creek outflow.
Observations:
Littoral/sub-littoral zone: Common Coast Range and Pricky Sculpin, Canadensis and milfoil plants showing signs of new growth, small schools of minnow like fish, many Large Scale Suckers in shallows demonstrating schooling behavior.
Benthic zone: No Cultus Pygmy Sculpin sighted in the 50 foot range (multiple common sculpin [CPS predators] present). Several Pygmy Sculpin present in the 70 foot range (benthic orientation).
Overall: Massive amounts of man-made debris from former marina.
